10 Best Industrial Disributor Stocks To Buy Right Now

Volkswagen finally put its seventh-generation Golf on sale in the U.S., starting with the high-performance GTI.

VW announced the arrival of the GTI at dealerships Friday, but conceded that the first sales probably were over Memorial Day weekend.

The Gen-7 Golf has been sold overseas since late 2012. VW said it delyed a U.S. launch until it could shift production of the car from Germany to VW's Puebla, Mexico, factory, where it also makes the Jetta and Beetle for the U.S. and overseas markets.

Starting with a niche model, the GTI, means that the automaker's new Golf assembly operation in Puebla initially can run slower to work out any bugs, if VW chooses to do that.

The Gen-7 Golf is a little bigger than its predecessor, but weighs as much as 79 pounds less. Engines are more powerful, but mileage is better.

    Tuesday's Volume: 369,000

    Three-Month Average Volume: 360,477

This stock has been consolidating and trending sideways for the last two months, with shares moving between $8.61 on the downside and $10.39 on the upside. Shares of MXWL are now quickly moving within range of triggering a near-term breakout trade above the upper-end of its recent sideways trading chart pattern. That trade will hit if MXWL manages to take out Tuesday' high of $9.54 and then once it clears more near-term overhead resistance at $10.39 with high volume.

Traders should now look for long-biased trades in MXWL as long as it's trending above its 50-day at $8.81 and then once it sustains a move or close above those breakout levels with volume that's near or above 360,477 shares. If that breakout hits soon, then MXWL will set up to re-test or possibly take out its 52-week high at $11.08. Any high-volume move above that level will then give MXWL a chance to tag $12.

Some developed markets have also outperformed the Dow Jones Industrials. Italy's market is up 14%, and even the euro's weakness has given U.S. investors in iShares MSCI Italy (NYSEMKT: EWI  ) a 12% gain. Europe has made progress toward emerging from recession, and Italy has recovered more than some of its economically healthier peers because of the close brush with sovereign-debt issues that cut confidence in the Mediterranean nation's stock market substantially. As long as the government can keep debt under control, Italy could keep outperforming the Dow.
